Surplus off-peak electricity from a VVER reactor, split into clean hydrogen for fertilizer, grid storage, and vehicle fuel — returned to the community that hosts the plant.

The loop, running right now.

Telemetry streams from the plant gateway. Every value eases into place — nothing snaps. Off-peak surplus is metered, converted, and split across three offtakes in real time.

Scale the electrolyzer. Watch it ripple.

The pilot starts at 1 MW. Drag toward the 10 MW build-out target and the community outputs recompute against the feasibility model.

At full build-out the system converts roughly 160 t of hydrogen per year, avoiding an estimated 1,424 t of CO₂.

One stream, three destinations.

The splitter divides output by where it does the most good for the community — not by what is easiest to sell.

Branch A42%

Fertilizer

Hydrogen feeds ammonia synthesis for regional agriculture, displacing fossil-derived feedstock and shortening a long, carbon-heavy supply chain to a local one.

NH₃ synthesis
Branch B33%

Grid storage

Stored hydrogen becomes a balancing buffer. When demand spikes, it reconverts to electricity — turning the reactor's overnight surplus into daytime flexibility.

Vehicle fuel

A 700-bar refueling corridor supplies fuel-cell buses and heavy freight along the Polyarnye Zori–Murmansk route, where battery range and cold are hard constraints.

Baseline — 2025 feasibility

One megawatt, proving the loop.

A single PEM electrolyzer draws surplus off-peak output from one VVER unit. The pilot validates the conversion economics, the safety envelope, and the first two community offtake routes before any scale-up commitment.
